Circa 2012: Ruminations on a Changing World is artist's apocalyptic vision of the world once man has brought it to its final ruins. The largest element of the exhibition is Trashnami!: a massive-scale cresting tidal wave comprised of trash bags that threatens to engulf the exhibition space. The space will be flagged by several large painted murals and smaller motorized sculptures, which will be operated by the audience during opening night.
New York, NY— Artists Wanted, in collaboration with White Box, is proud to announce
the opening of Kim Holleman's Chelsea Solo Show, CIRCA 2012. This exhibition is part
of the White Box 6 Feet Under summer festival. Artists Wanted's fall open call,
"This Urgent Moment" challenged artists to submit new art & design work "that has
the bite and blood to match the energy of our era;" Holleman did just that with her
submission Trailer Park. The July 17th opening will be a grand street party in true
Artists Wanted tradition.

her winning piece, Trailer Park, a complete 10x14 ft trailer that has been converted
into a mobile public park, for the evening.
Holleman's previous solo show took place at Black and White Gallery in Williamsburg,
Brooklyn and received stellar reviews. Alan Gilbert of The Village Voice says, "The
uniqueness—and importance—of Holleman's eco-aesthetics reside in her imaginative
attempts to reconcile this awkward relationship."
The opening of CIRCA 2012 will be as unique and bold as the work itself. Artists
Wanted and White Box have teamed up with renegade event producers, "TheDanger", to
put together a street party opening featuring a flat-bed truck as a stage and DJ's
Leonard de la Posso and Big Bully.
Opening Event: July 17th, 2008. 6 - 11pm
