Hardland/Heartland

Concurrent with exhibition Unconventional Wisdom

Hardland/Heartland, a creative group helmed by Eric Carlson and Aaron Anderson, offer a post-apocalyptic vision of the Midwest. Their mixed-media installations incorporate artists working in a variety of media from design, music, fashion, film, sculpture and architecture. Straddling the lines between the real and the fantastic HL/HL's narrative installations bend and twist with the will of participants and viewers.

Ruthann Godollei and Mike Elko are print makers with sardonic senses of humor. Godollei's work comments on inequities, injustices and disparities via a series of symbolic containers and household items. Elko transforms idealized images of American life, family and politics into sly observations on contemporary culture.
