The sixteen artists in Overload take on the contemporary quandary of information glut with ingenuity, often a compulsive-obsessive's attention to detail, and much humor. Their interest in the issue reflects larger societal shifts in relation to data absorption, readily apparent during this political season when one presidential candidate text messages his constituents, while the other is tagged the "Analog Candidate" by The New York Times. The works range in media, from traditional painting to sculpture, video, installation and more.

From the artist's statement:
The Unread Book Project was initiated about five years ago as a
response to my unrelenting habit of buying books and then having the
vast majority going unread for one reason or another. Do you have a
stack of books in your home that has been sitting there collecting dust
for months or even years? Are there books that you tell
yourself that you will eventually read, but don't? Do you want to share
the book as well as the story of one of those unread books?

You may participate by bringing a book to the reception or anytime during the exhibit's run!
