White Box’s mission is to promote a diversity of
contemporary art and to showcase programs of artists,
curators, and other art related professionals. Additionally,
White Box presents student and adult educational
programs such as lectures, performance, films and video
screenings, art and culture trips here and abroad, thereby
linking the contemporary arts with current US and global
aesthetic and ethical issues. Located in the heart of the
Chelsea art district, White Box has selected its location
purposely to contrast the overriding art market and
merchandising environment. Instead White Box presents a
non-commercial museum quality and historically relevant
