Un autre mouvement des images. For the fourth consecutive year, the project aims to federate certain territories of today's cinema, particularly at its margins and its borders. Hors Pistes selects films that summon the spirit of fiction in an off-beat manner and confront the realities of the present. The festival takes place over 3 weekends and provides, in addition to screenings, 3 special evenings in keeping with its crossdisciplinary ethos.
3 weekends:
27/28/29 March
3/4/5 April
10/11/12 April
For the fourth consecutive year, the Pompidou Centre presents Hors Pistes, un
autre mouvement des images.
Hors Pistes [Off Tracks] aims to federate certain territories of today's cinema,
particularly at its margins and its borders.
Hors Pistes selects films that summon the spirit of fiction in an off-beat manner
and confront the realities of the present.
Hors Pistes proposes a displacement in ways of seeing.
Renzo Martens and the disturbing Episode 3, ‘Enjoy Poverty’; Dennis Tupicoff
and the surprising animated film ‘Chainsaw’; Ila Bêka and Louise Lemoîne
who co-created the disconcerting architectural film, ‘Koolhaas Houselife’;
Artus de Lavilléon and David Ledoux with their bicycle road movie, ‘Le Dernier
Voyage by Maryse Lucas’; Philippe Terrier-Hermann and his melancholy ‘Dérive’ featuring the singer of the group Aaron; or JR and the innovative project, ‘28
mm, Women (Favela Morro de la Providência, Rio de Janeiro)’... More than 40
daring artists thus prepare to make their mark in this latest edition by offering
unconventional views of the contemporary world. Hors Pistes gathers together
many transformist images such as these.
The festival takes place over three weekends and provides, in addition to screenings of the selected films, three special evenings in keeping with its crossdisciplinary ethos.
Camille, the remarkable guest of this fourth edition, opens Hors Pistes with an
exclusive performance, on Friday 27th March at 8:30 pm.
A much-anticipated concert by Genesis Breyer P-Orridge – the mythical
precursor of industrial music – prolongs the interplay between images and
music, on Saturday 4th April at 8:30 pm.
Finally, a screening of ‘La Classe américaine’, by Michel Hazanavicius and
Dominique Mézerette, a cult film of cinematic reappropriation turned Internet
phenomenon, ignites the weekend of April 11th.
In keeping with the pluridisciplinarity and the open-mindedness towards the
contemporary world that laid the foundations of the Pompidou Centre, Hors
Pistes invites the spectator to imagine their relationship to the world of images
differently.
