In a tour of 3 complementary solo shows (London, Barcelona and Milano). Pinto will present drawings, paintings and silk-screen prints inspired by acts of belief and faith in different religious and folklore.
Wagner Pinto presents his own pictorial world for the first time outside of his home country, Brazil.
In a “Eurotour” of 3 complementary solo shows (London, Barcelona and Milano) entitled “Floating”. Pinto will present drawings, paintings and silk-screen prints inspired by acts of belief and faith in different religious and folklore. Taking influence from the mix of religions and influences across South America such as candomble – a religion which melds Catholicism and African traditions Pintos paintings materialize “forces of nature, mythology and religious icons, imaginary situations, mental impulses and fine energies”.
To Pinto this sensory universe that influences parts of Brazilian culture, is an inexhaustible source of possibilities for expression without “aesthetic stereotypes” He says “The shows will be transformed into a fertile and dreaming landscape free of any interpretation. The idea is to bring to the surface, to the senses and to the view of visitors a floating universe, where even waves of thoughts have a rhythm, harmony, body and color, making the invisible visible to the human eye and in this way, to try to give a new direction to abstract art.”
