Dancer, Kazma's new video in this series focuses on the body, a body that is in good health and looks good, a body that is fit and full of vitality. It shows the choreographic work of the Icelandic dancer Erna Omarsdottir and explores the transformations and transitions that occur during her rehearsals and performances. His videos represent human activities, particularly the relation to work and the conditions of work.
Espace Croisé is producing a new film by Ali Kazma: Dancer (2009), which continues his series of some twelve films entitled Obstructions. His videos represent human activities, particularly the relation to work and the conditions of work.
The fields covered by his generic title Obstructions are extremely diverse, from brain surgery (Brain Surgeon, 2006), horology (Clock Master, 2006), abattoirs (Slaughterhouse, 2007), heavy industry (Rolling Mills, 2007) and the clothes industry (Jean Factory, 2008) to design (Household Goods Factory, 2008) and fashion (Casa di Moda, 2009).

Ali Kazma filmed Transaquania (Out of the Blue) in April 2009 at the Blue Lagoon, a famous thermal resort on the Reykjanes (“Smoke”) Peninsula in Southwest Iceland.
Exhibition organised in the framework of the Turkish Season in France (July 2009 – March 2010) and supported by Culturesfrance and IKSV Istanbul.
Ali Kazma was born in 1971 and lives in Istanbul.
