The new venue provides the show with it's on entrance and a privately manned elevator to allow personal guest walk-ins to the show floors. Other new features include the option to create murals on the exhibition rooms' walls, walls painted in different colors, and/or regular hooks to hang works on the wall. On the ground floor performances, art shows, private and semi-private parties, and a VIP lounge.
We are proud to announce the 7th edition of the PooL Art Fair in New York to take place
March 5, 6 & 7 2010. This will be the first edition at the newly renovated New York landmark
hotel: The Gershwin. “Gershwin-area was the Tin Pan Alley of the olden days. This is where the pop songs of the 30’s
and 40’s were conceived. Our hotel is now a hundred years old!”
The new venue provides the show with it’s on entrance and a privately manned elevator to allow
personal guest walk-ins to the show floors. Other new features include the option to create
murals on the exhibition rooms’ walls, walls painted in different colors, and/or regular hooks to
hang works on the wall. On the ground floor, the hotel's 3,000 square foot lobby offers multiple
possibilities for performances, art shows, private and semi-private parties, and a VIP lounge
during the show.
PooL is the successor to the acclaimed New York Independent Art Fair (November 2000), a
groundbreaking exhibition that attracted thousands of US and international visitors. The simple,
modest approach of the PooL Art Fair offers an exciting alternative to the "art fair" experience for
dealers and collectors, as well as the general public.
Each artist, or group of artists, will use the hotel’s guest room as exhibition space, creating an
intimate setting. The show will be comprised of artists, artists' collectives and curators. Hence,
the fair will serve as an invaluable resource for the artistic community and the general public. Our
goal with the PooL Art Fair is to provide the public with access to art, while encouraging them to
support and meet these emerging artists.
Frère Independent is a not-for-profit art organization that provides new avenues of dissemination
and widespread visibility to emerging and independent artists who do not currently have gallery
representation.
