Speakers pointing upward, installed on an oriental carpet, are filled with nails
that rattle as they broadcast dense chaotic sounds, like a busy city, traffic,
sirens, screams. A video monitor shows two turntables and the hands of an unknown
DJ. Not a very subtle metaphor, but quite effective as a soundscape. The roaring
installation could be heard all over the second floor, but without disturbing the
other works. The nails make the sound visible, always an engaging way to get sound
across in a sculptural context.
