Dal 16 aprile al 30 maggio 2010, Via Nuoro, 17 (RM) la Dorothy Circus Gallery reinterpreta il concetto di “Lolita” attraverso i sofisticati lavori digitali dell’artista francese Marie Blanco Hendrickx, in arte Mijn Schatje, con la mostra “Mystic Lolitas”. La lolita dell’immaginario collettivo, provocante e desiderabile, viene ridisegnata secondo un ideale estetico e filosofico. Mijn Schatje la trasforma in una ninfa angelica, dalla pelle diafana che ricopre carne trasparente, con dolci occhi, enormi e ipnotici, la cui forza si alimenta di bellezza e innocenza.

Le sue fanciulle sono immerse in una luce eterea e surreale e sembrano emergere dalla stessa sostanza dei sogni. Diventa facile perdersi a contemplare l’affascinante immaginario della Schatje in cui spiritualità e seduzione si fondono elegantemente. I suoi soggetti femminili sono fortemente ammalianti e la loro bellezza diventa il trait d’union tra il mondo reale e quello fantastico in cui regna una candida perfezione paradisiaca. Seguendo le sue mistiche lolite si può ripercorrere il fragile mondo dell’animo femminile lasciandosi conquistare dalle magiche emozioni di una stagione perduta.

La Dorothy Circus Gallery è lieta di presentare al pubblico italiano sedici lavori inediti della talentuosa Mijn Schatje. Nata in Francia da padre spagnolo e da madre olandese, vive a Parigi dove ha conseguito la doppia laurea in Fine Art and Graphic Design. Artista attiva da tempo nella scena elettronica parigina e nel mondo della moda, ha disegnato modelli per collezioni di brand come Rebook e Fornarina, lavora anche come consulente artistico per Playstation/ Sony Entertainment. Le sue illustrazioni sono state pubblicate da prestigiose case editrici e magazines internazioneli come Taschen, Die Gestalten, Dazed & Confused, Pig Magazine e Rizzoli che ha scelto l’opera "Coin Locker Baby” come copertina dell’ultimo romanzo di Isabella Santacroce “Lulù Delacroix”.

From 16th April to 30th May 2010, opening reception 7:30 p.m., Via Nuoro, 17 (Rome) Dorothy Circus Gallery re-interpretates the concept of “Lolita” through the sophisticated works of the French digital artist Marie Blanco Hendrickx, aka Mijn Schatje, in her solo show “Mystic Lolitas”.

The traditional idea of lolita, sexy and teasing, is re-designed according to an aesthetic and philosophical ideal. Mijn Schatje turns lolita into an angelical nymphe, with diaphanus skin and big, sweet and hypnotic eyes, whose beauty lives on elegance and innocence. Her maidens are immersed in an ethereal and surreal light and they seem to be made of the same substance of dreams are made of. It’s easy to cotemplate the fascinating world of Mijn Schatje and get lost in it. Spirituality, elegance and beauty melt together in a surreal way. Her nymphes are charming and their beauty becomes the link between the real world and a fantastic one in which a heavenly perfection rules. Following her mystic lolitas we can go back over the magic emotions of a lost season .

Dorothy Circus Gallery proudly presents to the Italian public sixteen brand new works by the gorgeous digital artist Mijn Schatje. Born in France to a Spanish father and Dutch mother, lives in Paris where he graduated in Fine Art and Graphic Design. She got to be an active participant in the music and fashion scene, brand like Reebok and Fornarina used her illustrations for their collections. She also works as artistic consultant at Playstation/Sony Entertainment. Her works have been published by Taschen, Die Gestalten, Dazed & Confused and Pig Magazine. Rizzoli published the ne Isabella Santacroce, “Lulù Delacroix”, with Mijn Schatje cover.
