Ivorypress Art+Books, Madrid

The art group from Havana (Cuba), presents their first exhibition in Spain: Drama Turquesa. Their most spectacular works are installations, but they also use other formats such as paper, canvas, and sculpture. Through everyday objects with an unsettling formal ambiguity, they address social issues and critique consumer culture. Art + Books is a pioneering project of Ivorypress, founded by Elena Ochoa Foster. It brings together the normally separate worlds of art and books, creating major gallery spaces with a connected bookshop specializing in art, photography, design and architecture. There are also related exhibition spaces with permanent exhibitions of artist's books by Francis Bacon, Cai Guo-Qiang, Anthony Caro, Eduardo Chillida, Damien Hirst, Anish Kapoor, Anselm Kiefer, Richard Long, Isamu Noguchi and Richard Tuttle.
