A retrospective
Duane Michals (b. 1932) has worked with photography since the late 1950's. His work is characterized by a free and unsentimental approach to photography as an art form. He uses all means in an experimental praxis which examines subjects such as gender, death and spirituality. Double exposure and handwritten text are but two of the many techniques Michals applies to his works. The exhibition is a retrospective and this gives the audience a unique opportunity to become acquainted with a wide range of works by this world famous photographer.
