A New Work by Kristin Oppenheim. Striking visual elements and manipulations of light accompany her installations, producing hypnotic effects that heighten the act of perception
Kristin Oppenheim is known for her spare interventions of existing space. She
primarily works with sound and how it relates to personal memories and
experience, often including provocative voices that mesmerize and enchant
the viewer through repetitious incantations. Striking visual elements and
manipulations of light accompany her installations, producing hypnotic effects
that heighten the act of perception. This exhibition features a newly
commissioned work created specifically for SFMOMA.
