For his first solo exhibition within the gallery context, Jérémie Gindre concentrates on two selected elements which have been of major importance in his recent research: The idea of territory and discovery and the curiosities which occur in nature.

Through a series of drawings, paintings and sculptures, the whole idea of the exhibition creates a path between fiction and reality, concentrating on the peculiarities and ambivalence of natural environments and human interpretations.

Jérémie Gindre was born in Geneva in 1978, where he lives and works. Recent solo exhibitions include "Total Reflection & The Critical Angle", galerie Florence Loewy, Paris and "Tomahawk", 20qm, Berlin, 2009.
Upcoming projects include Circuit, Lausanne (solo), January 2011, "Derrière les panneaux il y a des hommes", Centre d´Art Contemporain la Tolerie, Clermont-Ferrant (group) December 2010. In the recent past he has been exhibition in group exhibitions at Maison Populaire, Montreuil, Paris; Musée des Beaux Arts, Moutier; La Box, Bourges; Centre d’Art Contemporain, Genève; Forde, Genève; Mamco, Genève; Museo de Arte Moderno, Buenos Aires.

Chert gallery opened on September 6, 2008 with the group exhibition "The Lamb´s Mother in the Creche?". The gallery space was once a mechanics workshop located in Berlin-Kreuzberg. It consists of a single 75 sqm room split over two levels. The renovations have deliberately left many traces of its original purpose - namely the tiles lining the walls of the upper space, and the hole in the floor, typical of many car repair garages. The unique architecture of the space makes it an ideal stage for interpretation. This aspect constitutes a key role in the intention of the gallery, as most artists are invited to realize their projects in situ.

The Chino space was used between December 2008 and November 2010.
As a space physically in between two different activities, Chino guested exhibitions and projects related to the program of Chert gallery as well as presentations related to the activity of Motto Bookstore.
