Never Let Me Go. The exhibition - that takes the title of a novel by Kazuo Ishiguro - features 10 artists from across the region to read the book and create a piece of work that physically uses the novel as a central element of the work.
Never Let Me Go is an exhibition inspired by the novel of the same title by Japanese-born British author Kazuo Ishiguro. QUAD has invited 10 artists from across the region to read the book and create a piece of work that physically uses the novel as a central element of the work, culminating in an exciting and thought-provoking exhibition. Never Let Me Go will be on display in QUAD Corridors from 29th January until 13th February 2011.
Exhibiting artists are: Neil Dixon, Nick Buxton, Tracey Meek, George Harris (from the ‘Future Focus’ exhibition) Anna Mawby, Nicki Dennet, Yelena Popova, Hugh Dichmont, Tomas Chaffe and Debbie Adele Cooper.
To celebrate the exhibition QUAD’s own reading group, BooksQUAD, will be holding a public debate and readings from the book in the Café bar at QUAD on Monday 9th February from 6:00pm. The event is free and open to all, it is advised to read the novel and take part.
The new film, Never Let Me Go (15), also based on the book, will be showing in QUAD from 25th February. There is also a chance to talk about the story, as told through words, images and film, at an informal discussion group on Sunday 27th February at 6:00pm.
