Palabras Habladas is a series of staged acts which oscillate between Performance and Spoken Word, that seeks the rediscovery of poetry and the poetic.
The objective of this third edition of Palabras Habladas is to invite the artists to not only act on a anonymous stage, but to encourage them to work in their performance with the place, so that the resulting work is an amalgam between artist and space.
For this reason Palabras Habladas will visit during its seven performances a number of symbolic places or buildings of the city of Madrid that are not part of conventional cultural circuit; places that are known but little visited, or are unknown and inaccessible, but always striking. With this approach the offers a challenge to the invited artists and provides to attendees an unparalleled view on the city of Madrid.
As diverse as the locations, are the seven invited artists. Although all of them are professional performers, each has found its own modus operandi.
Joana Brabo (BCN) will open the cycle on February 23, 2011 at 19:00 at the municipal market of Antón Martín.
Olaia Pazos, Lucas Rodríguez (Elkoalapuesto), Ebba Rohweder, Nieves Correa and Julio Jara will act during the forthcoming months in places such as La Ermita de San Antonio de la Florida, Casa del Retiro menagerie, the old church reconverted in library Escuelas Pias, the Crystal Palace of the Arganzuela and even in the streets of Madrid. Keep updated!!
