Performancy Forum XII. A monthly exhibition and thinktank revolving around post-product performance work, including music, theater, dance, video, installation, action
The Panoply Performance Laboratory (PPL) presents 'Collaborations and influences': collaborative artists present solo work, asking how their collaborations influence them, and solo artists speak to influences arising outside of collaboration... Performancy Forum is a monthly exhibition and thinktank revolving around post-product performance work, including music, theater, dance, video, installation, action, and all that exists in between these mediums. Events are structured around the needs of the artists, creating spectator/artist relationships, participation frameworks, and platforms that allow the work to operate in an intentional manner. Featuring: Alejandro Acierto (installation, performance on Saturday night), Gelsey Bell, Hector Canonge (with Maria Fernanda Hubeaut), Ivy Castellanos, Brian McCorkle, Esther Neff, Paul Pinto, Brian Rady, Matthew Stephen Smith, and Meghann Snow. Part of Arts in Bushwick's Site Fest. PPL creates music-driven, documentary-based performance works with a diverse array of collaborators, from all disciplines, fields, and walks of life. Additionally, PPL is dedicated to sustainable practices such as the use of recycled and found materials in production of portable, low-budget "educational" performance art for a diverse audience.
