Notes:
The legendary open exhibition, which seeks to represent all artists who submit works, returns to the refurbished gallery. This year, as last, submission criteria continue to reflect developments in new media, sculpture & photography, whilst the amount of gallery space allocated to
the exhibits has dramatically increased. However, the emphasis is on the display of small works, accessible to the public, and retains the original intention of this hugely popular and well established annual event.
Visitors are directed to the gallery by road signs from Canada Water underground station on the East London and recently extended Jubilee Lines. After a short walk into Southwark Park, art magazines are provided for reading whilst taking advantage of the offers of light refreshments which are also available.
Cafe Gallery Projects new gallery opened in May 2001 after a £500,000 lottery funded building project. It has over 50 metres of running wall space, a sculpture court, education/workshop space and is fully accessible to disabled people. The gallery is a revenue client of London Arts
