STAY HUNGRY, an exhibition series in five parts, is starting the fourth and last preview before the final exhibition. On 21 April, STAY HUNGRY again takes control of the allotment gardens near Gleisdreieck for one night and shows art beyond the white cube.

In the little cottages and gardens of the allotments located at the former freight depot, Stella Geppert, Heinrich Dubel, Pia Lindman, Wolfgang Ploeger, Bernd Trasberger, Simon Wachsmuth and Christof Zwiener present installations and performances dealing with the characteristics and qualities of the site. The artist and musician Jochen Arbeit (Einstürzende Neubauten) supported by Hopek Quirin fill this eroded urban landscape with his soundscapes.

Beginning at 9pm, the curators Emilie Trice and Carson Chan are invited to invade STAY HUNGRY with their independent exhibition titled A Moveable Feast, which will include live performances by local musicians Fenster and invited guests, as well as a series of curated and spontaneous art performances and installations that have been developed for this one-night event. A Moveable Feast aims to engage diverse corners of Berlin's creative community, bringing together musicians, contemporary artists, creative environmental activists and the broader public to experience the uniquely surreal atmosphere of the gardens at Gleisdreieck. Participating artists include: Maxime Ballesteros, CaBoume, Zhivago Duncan, Fenster, Britta & Ron Helbig, Bertrand Lacombe and Iku Sakan.

“STAY HUNGRY vs. A Moveable Feast” is the 4th preview of an exhibition-cycle in five parts. The main and final part will run from 19 - 29 May, 2011.

STAY HUNGRY questions the status quo of contemporary art by way of exhibitions outside the traditional gallery space and marketing context. Contemporary art is presented in a place that was once a symbol for social utopia, but now stands for bourgeois escapism. In contrast to previous exhibitions in the public arena, the artworks presented in STAY HUNGRY are not meant to breathe life into functioning architecture or overly commercialized urban spaces; rather, they enter into a dialogue with a world that has been individually designed by its inhabitants.

STAY HUNGRY is curated by Theo Ligthart and Anna Redeker. A cooperation with the Kleingartenverein am Gleisdreieck (POG).
