Bilobed flaps. Paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings and installations
Bilobed flaps. Thomas Zipp (born in Heppenheim, 1966) brings together individual works - paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings and installations - to create an overall concept that completely integrates the space of the exhibition venue. His works are marked by an intense engagement with history, science and religion, with politics and society and with art history and philosophy. Good and evil, truth and lie, God and the devil, standard and deviation, body and mind, obsession, ecstasy, borderline experience, blessedness and sexuality provide Zipp with thematic inspiration. Zipp uncovers hidden connections between these themes and deploys them with a playful sense of humor in his artwork. Thomas Zipp currently lives and works in Berlin. Vernissage: Friday, 29 April 2011, 6-10 pm. (Image: R.I.P., Acrylic and oil painting on canvas 100 x 80 cm And collage on paper, framed 32 x 27 cm, 2008)
