Since 2005 the artist invites viewers to register their heartbeats creating a growing sound library of his own. Les Archives du Coeur - Archiwum Serc has already been exhibited in galleries around the world. Each recording is saved into three copies. One of them to be sent to the Teshima Island in the Seto Inland Sea, where the artist slowly build his one of a kind collection of heart beats. At present it already contains over 30 thousand items.

Christian Boltanski is one of the greatest French contemporary artists. Since 2005 he invites viewers to register their heartbeats creating a growing sound library of his own. Les Archives du Coeur - Archiwum Serc has already been exhibited in galleries around the world: Paris, London, Stokholm and Milano, just to name a few. Starting from the 8 of February, Warsaw is going to be its new host and source of fresh paces.
Each recording is saved into three copies. One of them to be sent to the Teshima Island in the Seto Inland Sea, where the artist slowly build his one of a kind collection of heart beats. At present it already contains over 30 thousand items. The other recording will be available to its owner on a CD. The second copy is to be stored in the archives of the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle. The third recording will be available on a CD to the participant of the project.
A retrospective of Christain Boltanski was hosted by the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle in 2001.
