75 Photographs, 35 Women, 42 Years
Since the beginning of his career, the representation of women and her body has been established as one of the recurring themes of the artistic imagination of Juliao Sarmento. Although his work is marked by the use of different modes of artistic production (painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, video), it is interesting to note that the practice of the portrait has been preferentially associated with the exercise of the photo. This exhibition confirms and allows better understanding of this slope, with 75 photographic portraits (mostly unpublished) made by the artist since the late 60's to the present. Included are records of personal and intimate images of features through more informal, spontaneous and playful, even photographs that suggest conceptual and aesthetic intentions that brings us inevitably to your artwork. Opening Reception from 6:30 to 8pm.
