For the third year 8 cultural institutions are taking over the display windows at the Galeries Lafayette store. The arrangements in eight shop windows show the presence of Les Arts Decoratifs, The Centre Pompidou, the Cite' de l'architecture & du patrimoine, la maison rouge, the Musee d'Art moderne de la Ville de Paris and the Palais de Tokyo, as in 2010, as well as two new participants this year, La Gaite' lyrique and Le BAL.
Galeries Lafayette is pleased to present for the third year its Paris & Création display windows. From 11 July to 5 August, eight cultural institutions will be taking over the display windows at the Galeries Lafayette store, on the Boulevard Haussmann.
The arrangements in eight shop windows will show the presence of Les Arts Décoratifs, The Centre Pompidou, the Cité de l’architecture & du patrimoine, la maison rouge, the Musée d’Art moderne de la Ville de Paris and the Palais de Tokyo, as in 2010, as well as two new participants this year, La Gaîté lyrique and Le BAL.
With Paris & Création, Galeries Lafayette dedicates its display windows to the service of art, giving passers-by a panoramic view of the range of what is culturally available in the city.
Each of these excerpts of exhibitions on display elsewhere offers a taste of the capital’s artistic ferment in the fields of the visual arts, design, the digital arts and architecture. And each of the venues will represent an art, a neighborhood and an approach that reflects the geographic and cultural diversity of Paris. Whether a seasoned art lover or a newcomer to its pleasures, native Parisian or tourist from France or abroad, one and all will be happily surprised by the creative energy that has gone into these installations and soon, we hope, will be able to set off to experience these sites themselves.
