Tichy bursts on the recent history of photography when in 2004, the curator Harald Szeemann chosed a selection of photographs. The first exhibition of Tichy took place in 1956 in the hospital Kyjov, but the passage from the space of semi-private studio in a space public exhibition was traumatic for him. Therefore, Tichy decided to live and work only for himself. Ceased to travel and started to go everywhere on foot, much its enormous work was created within walking distance of home. Tichy died on 12 April 2011 in Kyjov. The Sala de San Benito in Valladolid presents the first exhibition after his death. Curated by Enrica Vigano'.
