Strand | beach | spiaggia | pljaz. People seem to be consequently drawn to the beach, the shore, the area between sea and civilization. On this narrow strip they re-arrange space - to provide access to the water, to see the horizon, to sit down, to relax, to spend some time. The photographic series "The Beach" investigates the diversity of architecture and furnishing, the range of materials, signs, shapes, colours and objects, that has been therefore imagined. The pictures have been taken in 15 European countries over a duration of 25 years. Opening Tuesday September 13, 2011 at 7pm.
