National Open Call to Artists
Deadline: Entries must be postmarked by March 10th, 2003
Curator Dover Abrams has announced an open call to artists around the country for
Lankershim Art Gallery's April show entitled: SHARING SPACE IV The Lankershim Art
Gallery was built in 1939 and is a multi-use 1300-square-foot art facility. The Lankershim Art
Gallery was voted the Best Los Angeles Gallery by Valley Magazine.
Eligibility: Exhibition is open to all visual artists, 2D and 3D, including but not limited to
photography, painting, printmaking, sculpture and drawings. The show will run April 1st-29th
2003
Jurors: Gallery staff
Entry Requirements:
1.Three photographs or Three 35mm
slides or may be submitted for a
non-refundable administration fee of $20
(U.S.). For more than three pieces,
please include $5 (U.S.) for each
additional slide/photograph.
2.Slide/photograph must be marked with
title, artist name, arrow indicating top
and a number corresponding to the slide
annotation sheet.
3.Slide /photograph annotation sheet
indicating medium, size, title and a brief
description of the work.
4.Artist bio and/or résumé including
name, address, phone number and email
address (if available). Bio/résumé will
not be used in the selection process.
5.Check or money order made payable
to "J.Peterson".
6.Self Address Stamped Envelope
(SASE) with sufficient postage for
return of all materials.
Accepted Work: All accepted work must be
for sale. Selected artist will be responsible for
the cost of shipping to and from the gallery.
The artist is responsible for any insurance of
his/her work during transit and exhibition.
While excellent security is in place and the
utmost care is given to all entries, the
Lankershim Art Gallery does not assume any
liability for damage or loss before, during or
after the exhibition. All slides will be returned
if SASE is enclosed with the application.
Sales: The Lankershim Art Gallery charges
30% commission for all sales. All art must be
for sale.
Awards: Ribbons will be presented in the
following categories:
Best in Show
First Place
Second Place
Third Place
Honorable mentions
Location: The Lankershim Art Gallery is located at 5108 Lankershim Blvd., North Hollywood,
California, in the heart of the NoHo Arts District
