Faces and Figures
The Art Museum at Florida International University presents American Art Today: Faces and Figures exhibition from January 18th, 2002 through March 9th, 2002. This exhibit is co-curated by Dahlia Morgan, Director of The Art Museum and Roni Feinstein, independent curator. Past exhibitions in the American Art Today series have included Fantasies and Curiosities (2000), The Garden (1997), Images from Abroad (1996), Night Paintings (1995), and Heads Only (1994).
In American Art Today: Faces and Figures, works by 33 artists including Louise Bourgeois, Alex Katz, Viola Frey, Carrol Dunham, and Kerry Marshall, Miami-based artists Edouard Duval-Carrie, Ana Albertina Delgado, Maria Brito, Westen Charles and David Rohn will be displayed.
The exhibition will continue until March 9, 2003.
American Art Today: Faces and Figures is sponsored in part by the Steven and Dorothea Green Foundation, the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the National Endowments for the Arts, the State of Florida Department of State, the Division of Cultural Affairs through the Florida Arts Council, the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, the Cultural Affairs Council, the Mayor and the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners, the Friends of the Art Museum and the Arts Funding Network (formerly Fifty over 50).
The Art Museum at Florida International is located at the University Park Campus - S.W. 107th Avenue and 8th Street - in PC 110. The Art Museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesdays and Noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
The outdoor Martin Z. Margulies Sculpture Park is open to the public year round. Admission to The Art Museum and all its programs and events is free. For more information please call (305) 348-2890.
