Prints created to celebrate the Royal Shakespeare Company's 50th birthday
Folio is an exhibition of prints from the RCA Printmaking programme, created in response to Shakespeare and to celebrate the Royal Shakespeare Company's 50th birthday. After a successful show at the RSC in Stratford, it is transferring to the RCA in Kensington. The exhibition includes two bodies of work - the first, a collection of original lithographs made in 1964 to mark Shakespeare's quarto-centenary including work by Joe Tilson, Allen Jones, Elizabeth Frink, Norman Ackroyd and Sandra Blow. The second part features a new set of prints created by students and staff, as well as invited artists such as Bob & Roberta Smith, Adam Dant and Christiana Baumgartner. Most of the prints will be for sale.
