Program Nr. 1 presents a group of videos that explore the possibilities of a time-based medium.
NURTUREart is pleased to present Program #1 of Videorover: Season III, curated by Rachel Steinberg and featuring: Lee Arnold, Nicolas Carrier, Yoni Goldstein + Meredith Zielke, Rachael Haines, Ryan Whittier Hale, Una Hamilton Helle, Zerek Kempf, Miles Umney, and Jenny Vogel.
NURTUREart’s semi-annual video series, Videorover, is an ever-expanding forum for new and emerging video artists. While producing and sharing video is becoming increasingly easier, we believe that truly exceptional video works still deserve to be presented and appreciated in the best possible way. To this purpose, Videorover aims to present a wide range of videos from local and international artists who are willing to question and extend the perceptual limitations of this medium.
For the first time, our bi-annual selection of one-channel video art will be presented in two distinct events. A first selection of short videos will premiere in a gallery exhibition opening on December 18, the videos will then be screened on rotation at NURTUREart for the following semester. A separate program of longer videos will be screened on January 6 during a special event night at Indiescreen Cine Club. This selection will also be presented at other locations as an itinerant program.
_Videorover_’s Program #1 will present a group of videos that explore the possibilities of a time-based medium. These works do not intend to overwhelm, but derive their power from small moments of refracted realism. Opening on Sunday, December 18 for a week-long presentation at NURTUREart, the videos will be displayed simultaneously in the main gallery space. After the winter break, these videos will move to NURTUREart’s screening area and play on rotation, running concurrently with the regular exhibition schedule.
