"Geometry of Sex"
Roger Björkholmen Galleri is proud to present new works by Hans Isaksson.
Hans Isaksson's work often have a seductive surface which hides existential
questions and meanings. In the exhibition "Geometry of Sex", Isaksson brings
together two different perspectives: geometry and sexuality/gender
questions. Thereby he creates a new order. Does geometric forms hide private
questions about normality and how we are shaped ?
In "Geometry of Sex (Model for Pavilion)", Isaksson has shifted the scale of
a pedagogic toy. The result allows the viewer to experience the object from
the perspective of a child. "2703" is based on a graph paper and transformed
into a system of coloured equilateral triangles. The shifted perspective is
a theme throughout the exhibition. The different works can be experienced as
fragments from a mysterious story, a private tale about the intellectual
process of becoming an adult.
Hans Isaksson was born 1962. He graduated from Konstfack 2000 and has
recently exhibited at Kulturhuset, Stockholm and Town House Gallery, Cairo.
