' Encorps '
For three years now different people have come before my lens for this work. They are friends, relations and people I know who were interested in the project. Others invite themselves.
No preconceptions or particular prejudice were considered in the choice of people to be photographed. The goal was to find beings. Any individual is an entity that gives rise to questions simply by his difference.
I fix what suddenly seems singular to me or imposes itself as evident.
It's the relationship to their own body that is seizing.
The light restitutes the dark zones. It is pure photographic illusion to want to seize the human being and yet its a major interrogation.
The final result are two images, at the same time distinct and whole. The tension between them permits me to explore different perceptions than those produced by a sole image. 'How to put the pieces together'. Mobility and shift are the poles of this research. The two images don't always fit together perfectly. It's the aleatory that creates this reserve in space.
It is a work entirely directed towards 'the other'. 'The other' as a vision of the world. A means to capture it.
