The Helen Pitt Gallery is pleased to present this exhibition of International artist to Vancouver. Re-defining the La-La-La-Landscape is a curatorial endeavour to re-think how a landscape can be defined based on the experiences of contemporary urban life.

For the first time in history the majority of the population of the planet lives in cities. Thus, the landscape that we live in is predominantly human, urban, architectural, virtual, molecular, emotional, filmic and often encompass more of these layered landscapes at the same time.

The exhibition brings together a group of internationally acclaimed artists who deal with these issues and who work in a variety of mediums: sculpture, collage, photography, video and film.

The work in the exhibition will be presented in and around an architectural/sculptural/designer setting created by the Swedish artist Thomas Elovsson. This structure is made up of painted MDF-modules and can be assembled in different shapes to fit the gallery space at hand.

The exhibition is curated by Per Huttner and is a Curatorial Mutiny project.
