Based on experimentation with extra-pictorial elements, such as adhesive tapes and photography, Ismael Iglesias manages to transform and create his own pictorial language in Future Light. The CCA ESPAI is pleased to present the new exhibition of the Galician artist, based in Mallorca, Eva Martín Soler (Vigo, 1972). "CITY-ZEN" covers a range of about 25 graphic works, in which starting from the collage technique, the artist comes up to make abstract compositions that arise from a mixture of the spiritual and the mundane.
The starting point of her work is the canvas support. On it, she applies an organic creative process; adding elements such as paper, paint, brush hairs, but also eliminating others, like tears on the canvas itself or the paper added. Thus, the work is transformed throughout the entire process leading to forms between the oneiric and the human.
Eva Martin made her artistic studies at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and has recently had several successful solo and group exhibitions throughout the Spanish geography: Aranjuez, Palma de Mallorca, Murcia, Madrid, Toledo, Vigo, among others.
The CCA Andratx is pleased to present the new exhibition by the Basque artist Ismael Iglesias (Durango, 1974). The young artist participated in the CCA Artist-in-Residence Program during October 2011 and developed a wide series of paintings shown in this exhibition. The series called "Future Light" consists of approximately 35 pieces of various formats and materials and can be seen at the CCA Gallery.
Based on experimentation with extra-pictorial elements, such as adhesive tapes and photography, Iglesias manages to transform and create his own pictorial language.
Ismael Iglesias's work has been exhibited in numerous national and international exhibitions, such as ADN Gallery in Barcelona, Delfina Foundation in London, Mass Moca in Massachusetts, Laboral in Gijón and ARTIUM Museum in Vitoria. He has also participated in several international art fairs like Art Brussels in 2007; SWAB Barcelona in 2007 and ARCO in Madrid in 2006 and 2005.
