Augapfelmassage. Pipilotti Rist is one of the most influential and important contemporary video artists in the world. For the first time an extensive exhibition of her works will be opened at the Kunsthalle Mannheim in March 2012 in close cooperation with the Hayward Gallery,London. Her works display a surprising balance of humour and subversion and draw on sensuality and transience, life energy and the fragility of our being. She approaches topics such as sexuality, physicality and the search for identity in ecstatic pictures full of colours that are accompanied by beautiful music.
