lyonswiergallery is pleased to announce the artist's reception for New York
artist Bradley Wester on Thursday, April 3, 2003.
Dumb, cheap, colorful common store labels and stickers are the stuff
arranged in Bradley Wester's exhibition- HELLO my name is.
Re-ordering, re-contextualizing, framing, painting, laminating or digitizing
preserves the functional, ephemeral forms even as they are transformed into
lasting works of beauty. Wester, in a decidedly non-linear approach, freely
borrows from many forms and techniques to achieve a body of work that
defines its own form. Individual pieces may employ different methodologies,
but they radiate from the same central interest in materials. The works
share an inherent high/low tensionx{2039}the banal mimicking the revered.
Wester's exhibition will include a wall-paper installation, digitally
produced works on paper, paintings and laminated collage works.
