On 5 May 2003 the citizen of Berlin painter Wolfgang Frankenstein its 85 celebrates. Birthday. The city museum Berlin appreciates the artist with a representative selection of newer and newest pictures. A most vital late work shows up, which is characterised by coolingdelicate Kolorit and fantastic-cipher-like designing.
The city museum Berlin shows 115 works of the artist, whereby in 2. Upper floor of the museum painting of the last 14 years to see is, among them numerous reflections of the life in the large city. In the 3. are developed for upper floor "Spanish pictures", from which year presents 1986/87, those under the direct impression of a study trip and the classical Spanish painting in self-willed way reflect (Velazquez, El Greco, Goya).
To the exhibition a catalog (64 sides, 50 illustration/partial colored) with an introduction of Jens Semrau appears.
