Local Knowledge

Madmusee, Liege

A selection of works of four artists from New Zealand: Martin Thompson, Andrew Blythe, Susan King and Jim Dornan. Proposed by Stuart Shepherd, artist and lecturer at Massey University (School of Fine Arts) in Wellington, this exhibition brings together artists with a curriculum and profile we call 'outsiders'. Some work in the context of workshops, others alone or in psychiatric institution. 'Local Knowledge' offers an exceptional and singular touch to the MADmusee since this exhibition is the first one in Europe for these New Zealand artists. Lecture: on Friday september 7th (2-4pm). Conference by Stuart Shepherd about the exposed artists and the research in the field of self thought art in New Zealand. Opening on Friday May 11th, 6.30 pm.
