31 edition: Engage'. Ten single-subject exhibitions are presented in different cultural places in Quimper (Breton Museum, Fine Arts Museum, Theatres...) as well as in the community galleries Artem and Aktinos.
Since 2000, Aktinos association has organised a festival dedicated to its author’s photography : May-Photography.
Since its creation in 1981, May-Photography, a biennial photographic rendez-vous attracting more than 3000 visitors every year, has assumed the dimensions of a true picture festival.
May-Photography is a photographic journey in the town’s heart. Ten single-subject exhibitions are presented in different cultural places in Quimper (Breton Museum, Fine Arts Museum, Theatres…) as well as in the community galleries Artem and Aktinos.
The festival extends over several towns and has broadened its partnerships with the region’s major cultural players.
Aktinos association has developed a residency policy from whom have benefitted Bogdan Konopka, Corinne Mercadier, Catherine Poncin, Antoine de Givenchy, Gildas Bénéat, Olivier Touron, Laurent Millet, Pascal Mirande, Muriel Bordier...
The festival is supported by Quimper Council, Finistère Regional Council and Brittany County Council, Brittany Regional Affairs Management (DRAC).
