Occupy Wendt+Friedmann. For his first solo exhibition at the gallery, the artist's studio will be installed in the gallery space, where it will be lived and worked in.
For Marc Gröszer’s fifth solo exhibition at Wendt+Friedmann, the artist’s studio
will be installed in the gallery space, where it will be lived and worked in.
Marc Gröszer will reside in the gallery for two weeks and, during this period, he
working life here – in other words: painting, drawing, sculpting, smoking, eating and sleeping.
The uniqueness will spend his everyday of Gröszer’s studio rooms is the central unifying element
of this exhibition. The bunker-like rooms, destroyed landscapes, rubbish, junk and collected materiality
in Gröszer’s image worlds are reflected in his studio rooms and present a unique framework for his work.
This framework both facilitates the understanding and lightens the materiality of Gröszer’s subjects to
a significant extent. One can well imagine the fantasy worlds and force fields that the artist inhabits:
war, violence, terror, sex, comics and contrary views of life between, on the one hand, the compulsions
of the daily trip to the supermarket and the revulsion and attraction of the media world and, on the
other hand, work on a career as an artist, with its meandering between desire and the wish to walk away
from what is happening currently on the art scene.
