New York Close Up

Tonight The Armory Show and Art21 will present an Outdoor Summer Film Fest at Big Screen Plaza on 6th Avenue between 29th and 30th Street to celebrate the launch of Year 2 of New York Close Up. A full retrospective of Art21's New York Close Up films, along with premieres of new films to date, will screen on a 30 x 16 foot HD-format LED screen, nestled within a 10,000 square foot outdoor venue complete with wood boardwalk, bistro tables, tiki bar, and fish/burger shacks. The eight artists included in Year 2 of New York Close Up broaden the scope of cultural production in New York City and will include: Diana Al-Hadid (Syria), David Brooks (United States), Josephine Halvorson (United States), Liz Magic Laser (United States), Eddie Martinez (United States), Alejandro Almanza Pereda (Mexico), Mika Rottenberg (Argentina & Israel), Erin Shirreff (Canada).
