Angles Gallery is pleased to present "All I Want is a Picture of You," a group exhibition of beautiful, handmade portraits. The exhibition will open to the public on Saturday, July 14, 2012 with a reception from 6-8 PM.
The often fastidiously crafted drawings and paintings in "All I Want is a Picture of You" are creative responses to desire and memory. Reflecting the artists’ personal engagements with a cherished, absent, or imagined other, the pictures illuminate an intimate world. These artworks offer portraits of emotional experience within a largely shared social sensibility, alternately poignant, gripping, sweet, and melancholy.
The 19 artists in "All I Want is a Picture of You" are Don Bachardy, Judie Bamber, Hernan Bas, Mark Flores, James Gobel, Marcelino Gonçalves, Richard Hawkins, Kurt Kauper, Tom Knechtel, Patrick Lee, Keith Mayerson, Dan McCleary, Paul P., Yuval Pudik, Brett Reichman, John Sonsini, Miller Updegraff, Éowyn Wilcox, and Kehinde Wiley.
