You are not a salmon - Kaffeesatz. The artist invites anyone to drink coffee to conserve funds and collect them at his studio, where they will be used to form coffee sediment ingots weighing about 800/900 gr.

is an artist in residence at Villa Straeuli, Winterthur (Switzerland) for the period 2 July/December 15 2012.
Every day all over the world tons of food and goods of various kinds, become refusal even before being placed in the chain of global trade because the system that has imposed and generated them, struggling to find a location where “supply and demand” are not more quantities directly proportional. This phenomenon causes 2 issues, one at the beginning and the other at the end: energy supply necessary to the production and the ability to waste disposal; microsystems in collision that go to drift by triggering chain reactions that induce the collapse of macro systems. If the reversal of course being conjured up by the thrust ecologist seems to promise “a better world”, it seems rather than rooted and antagonist the position of some economies.
Kaffeesatz is an operation that is part of the wider project YOU ARE NOT A SALMON and will be developed during the artist’s residence at Villa Straeuli. The artist invites anyone to drink coffee to conserve funds and collect them at his studio, where they will be used to form coffee sediment ingots weighing about 800/900 gr. Each 5 kg of sediment delivered will give to the private investor, which invest his raw material, the share of 0,25 % on the final sales price of single ingot. The one who will buy the ingot will have a multiple authenticated and numbered, and will arbitrarily decide its fate: he can store it as artwork, then a value, or convert it again. In fact, flipping the ingot will be possible to use the compost of the its base for the cultivation of mushrooms or plants, compatible with the specific substrate, returning the artwork to a refusal.
