Colours and Notes. New series of paintings. Takashi Suzuki's latest works are all resin painted either on canvas or wooden structures. The seductive resin surfaces of the works are distressed to reduce reflections. Fields of colours are arranged either as diptychs or as larger sets of panels. The deliberately balanced composition of the works invites the viewer to explore and study the notion of attributing qualities to colour.
COLOURS AND NOTES
new series of paintings
Gallery N. von Bartha is proud to announce the forthcoming exhibition of new
paintings by Takashi Suzuki. The artists second solo exhibition at the
gallery will open on Wednesday June 11th from 6 to 9 pm. The exhibition
'Colours and Notes' will be on view until July 13th.
Everything in the universe is neutral.
You can't say Mars is better than Jupiter.
All colours are equal.
You can't say this colour is better than that one.
Colour is infinitive.
Therefore you can't invent it.
All notes are equal.
You can't say these notes are better than those ones.
Note is infinitive.
A combination of notes with tempo makes music.
A combination of colours is still a combination of colours.
But it is my music.
