Wonderful days. The artist features moments in lives which are beyond our control and which come with an acute sense of excitement, anger or by chance.
artSümer is proud to host Onur Gülfidan’s fourth solo show ' wonderful days' between 15th november - 22 december. Gulfidan, as we are familiar, analyses the relationship of humankind with the world with irony and criticism.
At the 2010 show 'relative progress', Gülfidan made the seemingly unrelated figures on canvas come together at a subconscious level where lies both concern and search for hope. The show 'not as it seems' in 2011, Gulfidan shared the tense moments behind the figures and the temporality issues.
This time in his latest exhibition‘wonderful days’, Onur Gulfidan shares moments in our lives which are beyond our control and which come with an acute sense of excitement, anger or by chance. These inevitable, unpredictable, unexpected moments in our lives that we subsequently remember as pleasant memories are subjects of his canvases.
Onur Gülfidan was born in Istanbul, Turkey in 1974. He received his bachelor’s degree in painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts at Mimar Sinan University in 2000 and went on to complete a master’s degree in graphics and painting at the same institution. Gülfidan opened his first solo exhibition in artSümer in 2009. He lives and works in Istanbul.
