A fascinating selection of artists living and/or working in Brooklyn. The exhibition includes a variety of sizes and mediums, presenting works done in traditional mediums such as canvas and photographs and others done with a materials such as rubber, glass, light box, among others.

From July 3 to August 2, the Nohra Haime Gallery is pleased to present BROOKLYN ON 57TH STREET, bringing to midtown a fascinating selection of artists living and/or working in Brooklyn. The exhibition includes a variety of sizes and mediums, presenting works done in traditional mediums such as canvas and photographs and others done with a materials such as rubber, glass, light box, among others.

The public will be able to enjoy a variety of works ranging from David Baskin's rubber shirt to Lesley Dill's Arid Pleasure, a work of art composed of chiri paper, glue, oil paint, horsehair and wire. These types of works will be contrasted with Adam Straus's painting framed in lead, titled, A Rare Glimpse of a Missile Passing through the Constellation of Oops, Heather Cox's three eye columns and Antonella Piemontese's Knight Combatant, a very delicate linen installation that hangs from the ceiling.

Furthermore, the gallery will exhibit Boaz Vaadia's timeless figures, Peter Garfield's magical photographs Meighan Gale's illusionistic black and white silver print with stitching, as well as Susanne Slauewhite's haunting images, the sawn C-prints by Stuart Hawkins and Tamara Gayer's light box. Objects such as Aleksey Vaynshteyn's Golapogus Bar and Hot Glue and Juana Valdes' Remember Your Dreams will be displayed, along with abstract paintings by Yvonne Estrada, Mary Temple, John Zinsser, Bryan Osburn, Anna Killander and Willie Bo Richardson. On display one will also be able to see Loren Munk's day-glo paintings, Andrew Lenahan's paintings of Brooklyn, K.K. Kozik's magical World and Shimon Okshteyn's paintings of every day objects such as, Key, Corkscrew and Paintbrush.
