Young Illustrators delve deep into themselves to unleash their most delicious and dirty alter-ego's. Illustrations, drawings, paintings, sculptures and animations by 32 students.
32 third year Illustration students of the Willem de Kooning Academy proudly present their work in BLAAK10 Gallery & Store. They’ve been inspired by a combination of two typical opposites: Lekker Vies (Deliciously Dirty). Their grand expo features illustrations, drawings, paintings, sculptures and animations.
Cupcakes made of boogies, a nine feet tall and hairy man filled with candy, a painting of a puking girl made of sweets, a movie about the dissolution process of organic puppets and comics about a smoochie girlfriend; every illustrator has given a completely different interpretation of these two opposites. One artist focuses more on the scrumptious, while another goes down and dirty. Visitors must try and find a path between the two.
BLAAK10 Gallery & Store is part of Willem de Kooning Academy Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. BLAAK10 organises both solo- and group expo’s by students and alumni.
