The straight contour

Artists: Wayan Sujana Suklu, Putu Sudiana Bonuz, Stefan Buana, Nyoman Sujana Kenyem, Made Supena, Ketut Lekung Sugantika, Wayan Sudiarta

The Kupu-Kupu Jimbaran Art Space – Jimbaran Corner begins its Fine Art agenda in collaboration with Amigo Art Management to present seven of today’s leading Indonesian artists, I Wayan Sujana Suklu, I Nyoman Sujana Kenyem, I Made Supena, I Ketut Sugantika, Stefan Buana, I Wayan Sudiarta and I Putu Sudiana Bonuz in the group exhibition “The Straight Contour”.
The works of these artists reveal great diversity in form, technique and mediums.  

The colors and lines expressed appear as surrealistic representations of the mystical, rhythmic, decorative, sensual, mystical and epic narratives that are stored within the collective consciousness. The ideas contained within their works reveal “signs” that are suggestive of the artist’s psychological state. The lines and the shapes are pure “traces” of each artist however, there appears to be representative and non-representative forms.

These artists are featured in recognition for their determination in living their creative journeys within the straight art world, and for their never ending search for aesthetic development. Furthermore, it is impossible to see what  future innovations we will be revealed by these artists that will inevitably feed our souls. Combining the artist’s "inner eye" with the mediums of canvas paper, plate and found objects we hope they will offer new creative possibilities for Indonesian and world art today and in the future.
