Diego Soldà, concentric between form and material. He opens up to color, as an interpretation of his work. To the extent that, in the phenomenological observation of his work, we can use Hegel’s triadic definition of thesis-antithesis-synthesis. In fact, his journey is that of an artisan of nature who creates his product by manipulating various materials (multi-matterism), but leaves the outcome of his work to temporality and to chance. Time, as a constant in the closed space of the work of art and in its cyclicity, adds the variables that determine its result. As in automatism, Soldà adds the material that time deposits and often removes, favoring a surprising outcome in which the absolute white of the starting point, which coincides with certain rigorous geometry, inevitably leads the eye towards a “center” that is soaked in color and, as in photography, shuts the lens to focus on the detail which is unavoidably attractive-mysterious-intriguing. The initial absence of color is surpassed therefore by a chromatic vitality highlighted as a consequence of a sort of chaotic and magmatic state, whose course is known to no one, an “intentional” fortuitousness that leads to the definition of a material that lives two and three dimensionally and which configures tactile values as decorative values (Berenson) through its sensorial nature. In his investigation he gives rise to a formal evolution, in an abstract sense where the realism deriving from it is fortuitous.
