The Italian Cultural Institute in Addis Ababa is happy to present Heart to Heart, an exhibition by artists from Rome and Addis Ababa. Most of the art pieces are about the world we live in that has become much more interdependent in its part and globalization processes of diverse kinds. Everything is rapidly changing. Going back to neighborhoods we grew up is like going to a new place. The impact of these changes are imposing on the environment affronting the future. Modes of communications between people have taken a new life.
Heart to Heart is an exhibition that celebrates positive relationships through sharing visually expressed ideas about contemporary issues. It is a friendly dialogue between renounced and emerging contemporary artists living and working in Rome and Addis. The art pieces will be displayed as form of communication. There will be a visual conversation between paintings, drawings, photographs and video installations of these two dynamic cities by five artists from Rome and six from Ethiopia. Gea Casolaro, one of the artists from Rome is currently in Addis Ababa will take part in the art talk that will accompany this exhibition.
It is our hope that the audience will also be engaged in this dialogue.

Art Talk
On Saturday April 27 from 4pm to 6pm, there will be a roundtable discussion between the artists and the audience. This discussion will focus on the importance of visual communication and the state of contemporary art both in Rome and Addis Ababa.
