The second edition of NADA NYC will take place May 10-12, 2013 on Pier 36 at Basketball City located at 299 South Street on the East River.

Contemporary Dancing organized by Sam Gordon & CAFE DANCER
New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) is pleased to announce a Contemporary Dance program, organized by Sam Gordon & CAFE DANCER, to be presented at that the 2nd edition of NADA New York happening May 10-12, 2013 at Pier 36 - Basketball City. Contemporary Dancing takes its name from a song by Nils Bech. A program of performance presenting a range of dancers today who dance within the art world.The dance performances will take place both inside the fair and in the designed dance area outside the fair located along the East River.
ARTADIA
Artadia is delighted to partner with the New Art Dealer’s Alliance for NADA New York 2013, where we will give an unrestricted $4,000 award for an artwork at the fair. A jury comprised of two internationally renowned curators will walkthrough the fair on it’s opening day, Friday, May 10, to determine the award winner. The names of the jurors will be announced along with the award recipient on Saturday, May 11.
Merkx & Gwynne
Merkx & Gwynne present “King Arthur Green Room” at NADA New York 2013. This is the latest installment of King Arthur Rock Opera (KARO), an ongoing series of projects borrowing familiar narrative tropes from Arthurian legend as both generator and armature for creative production. KARO is a multifaceted campaign of New Wave Medievalism encompassing music, film, theater, and art.
Little Collector
Join LittleCollector for a fun-filled tour of the NADA New York! Kids will join LittleCollector’s art educational expert as they discover the fair in a whole new light, where medium, scale, narrative, symmetry and genre will be introduced. Kids will have the chance to be directly inspired by artists and their works. Plus all participants will receive a LittleCollector backpack and activity guide. Adult supervision will be provided so that parents may enjoy the fair.

Abrons Arts Center
The Abrons Arts Center of Henry Street Settlement supports the presentation of innovative, multi-disciplinary work; cultivates artists in all stages of their creative development through educational programs, commissions, and residencies; and serves as an intersection of cultural engagement for local, national, and international audiences and arts-workers. Each year the Abrons awards residencies to five visual artists and one curator through its AIRspace program, organizing visits with critics and curators, an Open Studios event, and a culminating group exhibition.
NADA provides programming, benefits and community service opportunities for its members, as well as forums and events for the general public. In addition, we hold regular social gatherings for the contemporary art community. Please join our mailing list for information about upcoming public events.
Lower East Side Gallery Events – Saturday, May 11th
On Saturday, May 11th the Lower East Side Business Improvement District (LES BID) will offer four free guided gallery tours heading to and from the NADA New York at Basketball City. Tours will leave from the NADA information desk at 1pm and 2pm to visit five Lower East Side galleries. Concurrently, tours will leave the Lower East Side Visitor Center (54 Orchard Street), visit five galleries and end at NADA New York. From 11am-6pm over fifty Lower East Side galleries will also host receptions welcoming fair goers. You can find a full list of participating galleries here. If you are feeling hungry, we’ve got that covered, too. Sign up for the TableHoppingNY walking food tour, ‘Eat up NY in the LES’ from 2-5pm.
A gallery tour with AIRspace curator-in-residence Karen Archey will be held at Abrons Art Center from 3-4pm, followed by a reception from 4-6.
